Essential Oils: A New Ancient Remedy

Essential oils have become quite popular over the last couple years. People from all walks of life are looking for alternative solutions to what ails them. For some, that reason is due to the economy. Times are tight and and many lack the funds for traditional healthcare. For others, they want to avoid all the synthetic chemicals in human-made products as well as their potentially harmful side effects. Whatever the reason, many people have turned to essential oils to meet their needs.

What exactly is an essential oil? Well, essential oils are the aromatic, volatile liquid within many plants. They are called the life force or life blood of the plant. They contain the intelligence and vibrational energy that gives the plants their healing power. With out them, the plant would not live. They serve to protect and ward off disease and predators, as well as transport vital nutrients, and bring about balance and restoration. They do the same thing in our bodies. They have been used for thousands of years and are mentioned in many ancient texts.

There are several ways to reap the benefits of essential oils. They can be inhaled (diffused, put a drop on your palm and cup hands over your face and inhale, put a drop on a cotton ball and place near a heater vent), applied topically (bottoms of feet, diluted in a carrier oil and applied where needed, as a part of an Epsom salt bath) or ingested (a drop in your drinking water, desired number of drops in a capsule to be swallowed, used in cooking/baking). Regardless of the means of application, the oils will travel in the body where they are needed and do their job. Essential oils are homeostatic. That is to say they bring balance to the body so it can do what it was created to do, which is to heal itself and restore proper function.

An interesting yet often overlooked fact about essential oils is their high frequency. Every living thing has a vibrational frequency. This includes humans. Frequency is a measurable rate of electrical energy that is constant between any two points. It is measured in the unit megahertz (MHz). There are many things that influence our body's frequency for the better and for the worse. Following is a chart that shows the average range of frequency for a healthy human body as well as the frequency at which disease sets in.

As you can see, the human body needs to maintain a rather high frequency in order to sustain health. There are many things that lower and raise our frequency. Examples of things that raise our frequency are exercise, positive thinking, time in nature, proper nutrition, flower essences, and essential oils. Some things that lower our frequency may seem rather obvious, such as processed foods but another thing to consider is our thoughts. Sometimes our thoughts can seem immaterial and mysterious but they too carry a frequency and impact our health. Negative thoughts lower our body's frequency by 12 MHz. On the other hand, positive thoughts raise our frequency by 10 MHz while prayer and meditation raise our frequency by 15 MHz. This is not to say that thinking one negative thought will be our demise and send us into disease but making a habit of thinking negative thoughts regularly will put us into a place of susceptibility. When you combine negativity (a bad attitude) with all of our processed foods and synthetic fabrics and everything man made all around us, it creates the perfect storm and leaves us mighty vulnerable.

In the fifth edition of the Essential Oils Desk Reference put out by Life Science Publishing, an interesting study is sited about the frequency changes that take place from holding and drinking a cup of coffee. It says that two healthy males in their twenties were measured at 66 MHz each. The first individual held a cup of coffee and without even taking a drink his frequency dropped to 58 MHz in a mere 3 seconds. Upon setting the cup of coffee down and inhaling the aroma of essential oils, his frequency returned to 66 MHz within 21 seconds. The second individual took a sip of coffee and his frequency dropped to 52 MHz in the same 3 second time period. He did not use essential oils, however, and his frequency took 3 days to return to its normal 66 MHz.

Essential oils have the highest frequency of any natural substance known to man and are a powerful tool for us to take hold of. Including them in our daily life can improve our overall health. They have a positive impact on everything from our spirituality to our physical self. They work to restore balance to our bodies and minds so we are free to live a life of health and vitality. It is of the utmost importance, however, to ensure that you are using therapeutic grade essential oils. Otherwise all the benefits will be tarnished by the addition of synthetic components used to stretch it out the oils and dilute them as well as rendering less effective at best and harmful at worst.
